Fun Facts & Unfiltered Monica Moments

You can read my official media bio if you’re into that sort of thing—but if you really want to know me, here’s the version with the good stuff:

  • I started my first company straight out of college and lived out of a suitcase in the back room of my very first office—on a blow-up air mattress that deflated halfway through the night. Hustle, but make it humble.

  • I’ve spoken on wealth-building, Latina leadership, branding, and purpose at conferences and universities across the country—and once shared the stage with Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank (spoiler: he’s shorter in person).

  • I’m big on manifestation. I’ve manifested properties, partners, and positions—down to the details. One of my favorite tools? The Abundance Book by John Randolph Price. I believe our heart and brain work in tandem to shape reality, especially when we train our reticular activating system to recognize what we desire. Trust the science AND the magic.

  • I once went through a messy business breakup and walked away from a company I helped scale to six figures in under six months. Sometimes the best gift you can give yourself is walking away in integrity with yourself, and a bit of extra cash in the bank.

  • I’m certified in Neurolinguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy, and have walked on glass, eaten fire, and punched through a board—all in the name of mindset mastery.

  • I’ve been featured on KTLA Channel 5, NPR, Realtor.com, and Mujeres Y Yo (my first-ever live interview in Spanish—nerves and all). I was also personally invited by Arianna Huffington to contribute to HuffPost after taking a chance and pitching her directly.

  • I wrote The Chingona Manifesto because I believe my feminism, my culture, my net worth, and my spiritual growth are all connected. It’s been shared over 2,000 times—and counting.

  • I thrift, sand, sew, and refinish. I own power tools, a hand sander, and I’m part of a social sewing club where we remake garments and revive fabric. If it’s DIY, I’m into it (just don’t ask me to assemble IKEA furniture—there are limits).

  • I’m passionate about sustainability—whether it’s giving vintage pieces a second life or helping others turn resale into a business with purpose.

  • Boxing is my favorite form of therapy— I mean, exercise.

This is just a glimpse of the messy, meaningful, ever-evolving journey I’m on. If any part of it resonates with you—you’re in the right place.

Let’s build something revolutionary together. Ready to plant some seeds of your own? Explore my work or get in touch.
