Golden Networking: Navigating the Professional World

  • University of Southern California University Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90007 United States (map)

I've heard people say "I hate networking" more often than I can count, and my first thought is always "then you're doing it wrong". You see, many people equate networking with selling, but a successful networker knows it isn't about that at all. You have to truly CARE about other people and see them as a human being rather than as what they can do for you.

At Golden Networking: Navigating the Professional World we'll discuss how to get out of the rut of delivering an over-used elevator pitch and shoving your business card into the hands of whoever will take it. This is about true connection and building relationships that last. We'll provide insight into the human psychology that will help to develop social currency in an authentic and genuine way.

The workshop will be followed by a mixer so that you have an opportunity to put your new knowledge into practice and connect with other attendees.

I will be a guest facilitator at this event with Stephanie Rose thanks to our amazing hosts Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. - Phi Chapter and The Latino/a Student Assembly.
